Year 12 major art works
Equilibrium- Danielle Cattell
This artwork really caught my eye, the detail put into the artwork, the patterns created especially aswell as the drawings engaged let the artwork it self stand out. I loved the idea of creating three separate forms, which in the end all reconnected with one each other was fascinating. The skull positioned in the middle of the other two artworks also had an eye-catching effect with the fact it stood out, literally stood out. Patterns like these are really interesting and fascinating to examine. You were able to easily tell that all three forms were connected with each other with the use of the ying-yang symbol placed on all three works. Danielle mentioned in her statement that the ying-yang symbol engaged in all three artworks were a symbol to point out balance and complimentary opposites.
“What on earth happened here?”- Matthew Hourigan
I found this artwork really interesting to examine, with all the random objects placed onto this giant ball to see. I love the title given for this artwork aswell, “what on earth happened here?” as the giant ball used, clearly shows that it represents the earth and the objects placed are objects used by all of us, the fact that this artwork was painted completely white, simply made it more appealing to look at. It was different.
Butterfly Kisses- Lisa Carrett
The multiple pieces Lisa created for her major, were literally amazing. I love her use of colours engaged into the artworks aswell as the nature perspective added into it, creating a more interesting feel. The colours really let the pieces stand out, it persuades you to want to examine the little drawings added into the pieces she has created, the patterns used, the tiny photographs of heads pasted on, the pictures drawn. It was all fascinating and eye catching to look at.
